The Philadelphia Regional Fund for Sacred Places 2009 Grant Program

WELCOME to the fourth year of Partners for Sacred Places’ Philadelphia Regional Fund grant program! Although previous recipients from the Fund are unable to receive capital grants a second time, we welcome all other applications from "New Dollars/New Partners" graduates that are fully prepared to begin a capital campaign and project in the immediate future.

Instructions for Filling Our the Application

Hard copies of the applications will be mailed to your congregation upon request.

All applications will be due in our office by 5:00pm on Friday, June 26, 2009.

Keep in mind...

To ensure that you meet the deadline for the Fund, we highly recommend that you review your cost estimates and building survey to make sure that the information is complete and up-to-date for the project or phase being proposed.  This can take some time, so re-examine those documents sooner rather than later.

Please note that we have narrowed the range for grants this year.  Grants of $25,000 to $65,000 will be awarded, with a 2:1 match required from the congregation (i.e. A $50,000 grant from the Philadelphia Regional Fund will have to be matched by $100,000 from the congregation).

We require you to submit 8 copies of your application for our Grant Panel members.  Please keep in mind that they are drawn from a broad region (and various fields of expertise), so it would be wise to submit 8 copies of any photographs, building surveys, architectural plans, etc. for their review as well. Submitting only one copy of these documents does not guarantee that every Panel member will see it and consider it.

Our deadline of June 26 for the Philadelphia Fund is firm, but we are open to meeting prior to the deadline to review drafts of your application if needed.

The grant panel spends a significant amount of time studying the specifics of your fundraising expectations, so make sure that you have a well-defined and well-considered plan for raising funds to match any grant from the Fund.
