Partners for Sacred Places is excited to announce that we are cosponsoring the Association for Preservation Technology, Washington DC Chapter’s (APT DC’s) upcoming symposium: Sacred Spaces: Preservation, Conservation, and Adaptive Reuse of Sacred Structures and Sites. Presentation proposals are currently being accepted, and should be centered around work done at a current or former sacred structure which may include, but are not limited to, churches, temples, synagogues, mosques, burial grounds, and other spaces considered sacred to its patrons and adherents. The symposium will be held on Friday, September 16th in Downtown Washington, DC.

Proposals for presentations ranging from 20-40 minutes will be accepted. We are also excited to announce that the event will include a student poster session, giving students and recent graduates an opportunity to share work related to this year’s theme. The full call for presentations and student posters is available on the symposium webpage. The submission deadline is Wednesday, July 27th. Notification of accepted submissions will be sent by August 5th. Please direct any questions to symposium@aptdc.org.
